12 Best Sewing Patterns for BOY Dolls

Finding great boy doll patterns is like trying to find great patterns for boys. And men. (Extensive, laborious, exhausting, etc.) But they’re out there! Lucky you…I’ve done the searched around and found you the 12 best sewing patterns for boy dolls! I’ve sewn most of these patterns, and own all but one. Most will fit a 15″ or 18″ doll.

Here are my top picks for boy doll patterns!

LJC Trendy T-shirt

This pattern makes a great boy T-shirt with a couple easy modifications. Lengthen the sleeve, straighten side seams. It’s free too. Free is great, especially if you’re poor. Or just cheap. Or both. (I’m both.) I bet even if you love wasting money, you still like free stuff.

LJC Baseball T

Lengthen the sleeves, don’t you think? (Don’t worry, the rest of these patterns can all be used for boy dolls without modifications:)

LJC V-neck T

123 Mulberry Hoodie Dress

Obvi, we would sew the shirt version, not the dress…

Doll Tag Clothing Dress Me Up Neck Attire

Lemieux Doll Boutique Hoodie

Miche Designs Botas

Stacy & Stella Puffer Jacket

123 Mulberry St. Cargo Shorts & Jeans

All the above patterns are available for purchase as pdf downloads at Pixie Faire. No, they don’t pay me. Um, I’d like to get paid. In patterns…lol!

Moving along, here are some commercial patterns that work when sewing boy dolls.

Simplicity 4268

You’ll see these overalls for sale all over Etsy. When this pattern was released for Bitty Twins, doll sewing freaks jumped on it like fat kids on cake. I know I did. Jump on the pattern that is. Although I’m not above jumping on cake either.

Simplicity 1952

This pattern includes simple pajama pants, bib, blanket, booties, and a hat- all can be used for the boy doll.

McCalls 3469

The drawstring bag, slippers, and gloves and scarf can all work too.

With these patterns, you can create a full wardrobe for a boy doll! Click the image below to see my picks for best free little girls patterns on the web!

Hello. I'm Amy and I'm addicted to sewing. I borderline-hoard fabric, buttons, & patterns. Sometimes I wish I could pile my fabric up on the floor and just roll in it!

  1. Marilyn Clarkin

There are many more patterns that Pixie Faire has released since this post:)

  2. Nancy

Wow, all the patterns are nice. I love them. Maybe I can buy my girl such a gift in the next few weeks. I think she will lvoe it.

So very darling!! :) I am going to pass this on to the mamas with girls I know. Many of my students have dolls that might just need these outfits. Thanks so much for sharing at Stress-Free Sunday!

Oh these are all so cute! I love the heart hoodie and the little shoes are so cute. My mom used to sew doll clothes for me and I loved it when I was a kid. Thanks for linking up to the “Making Your Home Sing Monday” linky party today! :)

  7. Buttons

I love the hoodie and the raglan sleeve shirt, but I hate making doll clothes! Stitches and I did it for our daughters’ dolls for Christmas, and there were definitely tears. They are just so tiny! I’ve also never sewed any knits. I’m afraid!

  8. daffy

Great work! thank for sharing with us. i love most of the patterns – as you said its very hard to find something for boy’s. I’m happy my boy is going to love it.

  9. Lisa Nelson

How did I miss this post, and why isn’t the most recent post (just got an email) showing?

I’m confused as how your post with Zoey turned into a doll post.

    Must be too early.

The first thing I thought when i saw this post was – does she make doll clothes? So I’m going to ask. Do you make doll clothes? How frustrating that must be. It’s so small, no?

You are darn good my friend! Wish I had mad skills like you!

Now, off to find the Zoey dress, because the front was wayyyyy cute! I’m not allowing my daughter to see it.

  10. ingrid@nowathomemom

I guess finding anything for boys it’s difficult, didn’t think it was the same with dolls!
they always have super pretty stuff for girls but for boys hmmmm not so much! :-)

  11. Rachel

We have a baby boy that could use some new duds. Technically he’s not quite a 15″ doll but I’ve been getting better at finding what to look for since my daughter’s most favorite baby ever is about the same size.

This is an awesome round up totally sharing.

  12. Amy of while wearing heels

Thank goodness I wasn’t drinking anything while reading your post…I certainly would have spit it out when I came to the comment, like a fat kid jumping on cake. Oh, my goodness! I think my favorite outfits are the hoodie and the puffer jacket.

  13. Margaret

I think I have most of the patterns you have listed. Do not have the puffer jacket – cute.

  14. Gina

I just love pattern round ups like this!! Thanks so much for doing the work for me; gives me more time to sew :)
