Basic Leggings pattern from Serger Pepper

I’m so excited to share the Basic Leggings pattern from SergerPepper!

Serger Pepper's Basic Leggings pattern | SewsNBows

What I love about Mamma Nene is that she’s all about thrift. Upcycling, refashioning, and stretching your resources. This pattern goes all the way up to 14 years. It’s a staple that you’ll be able to use again and again!

The tween fashion trend now is to roll their waistband over in leggings or sweats. See, I couldn’t stand it because then the pants sit too low. Low rise is kind of sexy, and not right on kids. Or anyone without abs.

Side rant, totally unrelated to this post:

If you have a muffin top, or a whole pan of biscuits like me; get yourself a nice mid rise pant so you aren’t walking around tugging your pants up all day.

Now, back to business. I love that the Basic Leggings pattern has a higher rise, and Bella can roll her waistband. So I get a proper fit, and Bella doesn’t have to sacrifice “style”. We are happy all around:)

Tween Fashion Trend: Rolled Waistband

This pattern is designed for fabric with some Lycra content, however I’ve used regular cotton knit and still got a great fit.

There is generous length so everyone should be able to use this pattern. If you leave them long, like I did; they’ll get worn for a long time. And they’re comfortable enough to sleep in!
