Craft Show Display

Craft Show Display

By Amy Mayen

I snapped a couple iPhone pics at my craft show this weekend. This is my second show ever. My first show looked like this:

A vast improvement! I think we look a lot nicer now, but I still need some display pieces for jewelry, headbands, etc.

I got this spinning thingy at a thrift store last year for $30 & asked hubby to paint it. It has a storage area on bottom to store the extra metal racks, and a business card holder on top.

I made a garland from fabric scraps, & Krystal hung some bow holders from it. We strung the tutus above it, but it was so windy they flopped behind our curtain half the time. We have now used this PVC pipe photo backdrop thing at a birthday party, for photo shoots, and at a craft show. It’s freakin’ handy.

I love my mannequin…even though she has annoying nipples. I feel like I should put a bra on her! I got her from a shop going out of business. $20!

I filled this basket with Easter eggs to entice the kids over. What kid doesn’t like stickers? My clothing rack is just sort of off to the side. I gotta do something different there- they didn’t get much love.

In case you were wondering, I broke even this time. It’s better than losing money, plus I made some new contacts. And, I have a little more experience to boot.

Just for fun, see if you can find all three cups of coffee hiding in the photos in this post. Hint: there’s a Starbucks, a 7eleven, and a sonic coffee.

I think you will continue to do better and better. Pretty soon the money will come rolling in. Better bring a big cart to carry it home in. lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC. Not being a coffee drinker I guess I failed the test. Could only find 1.

I love the way you displayed the bows! I have some hair clips, myself, and always have trouble figuring out how to display them!

I liked the Seattle Super Sonics but when they moved to OKC I loved them! I am so excited my son will be going to college in Oklahoma this fall. I am planning a visit around an OKC game for sure!! OKC is the family favorite around here except for my LeBron loving Heat 14 yr old fan.

I didn’t realize it was only your second show ever! Wish it would have gone better for you! I definitely like your second set up better. More appealing than the first :). I’m trying to make mine less of a chaotic mess before the next show. I’ve sent you an e-mail about a few different shows. Most of them I haven’t done before and the fees are a little higher, but it might be worth it to give them a try. And don’t forget to try Craigslist to find new ones!

Congrats on breaking even, and you’re right, that’s better than being in the red! Everything looks great, I love the basketball skirt!

Your booth looks very inviting! Breaking even is good for your second show. I hope that this means craft shows are retuning in popularity!

I used to do them in the 90″s but it was difficult to compete against stuff imported from China. The prices were ridiculous. I hope that there is a return to quality or quantity!

    Good luck in your sales.

It looks great! Congrats on breaking even, I have never done a craft show, because I am just not that good at anything that I would attempt to sell it…but Mama Buttons has and ended up spending more on other people’s stuff than she took in!

Those bows definitely look happy! It’s always good to break even, as long as you made those contacts. Networking is equally important in business :). I’m visiting from the Smiles Blog Hop!

It looks fabulous! Craft booths are tough. I’ve done some that have done very well and other that didn’t. Lots of work for the possibility of not a lot of return!

    Is that you? Very pretty!!
