Everyday Tank Top & Dress Pattern Tour
Today I’m on the Everyday Tank Top & Dress pattern tour!
As always, Serger Pepper delivers a great wardrobe staple for your pattern stash. Here’s Zoey modeling her Everyday Tank!
Zoey wanted a colorful, cheerleader inspired look. Bright Stenzo jersey knits make up her top and matching skirt.
This is a cray surfer print I bought at L’Ouseau Fabrics. I like it with the dots. When it comes to print mixing; seems like people are either on one side of the fence or the other…
I stand firmly on the side of mix it up.
I modified this pattern by using cheetah-print fold over elastic on the neckline and armcye. I should’ve pulled the elastic just a tad tighter while I sewed; but I still ended up with a well loved outfit. I love f.o.e. and use it on all my Big Girl Briefs too.
I wanted to make the dress option and flare out the bottom, but it was a little short on fabric. Serger Pepper patterns are designed with refashioning in mind though. The contrast side panels on the Everyday Tanks Top & Dress pattern allow for using smaller pieces of fabric. So I had just enough purple left to eek out a simple gathered rectangle skirt.
Another consistent feature of Serger Pepper designs is clothing that is meant to grow with your child. These patterns are built with generous length, and so far tend to really focus on knit fabrics. I would say Irene is the most eco-friendly and budget conscience designer in the market.
