Jalie 3355 Girls Hoodie

Jalie 3355 Girls Hoodie

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Bella has a new sweatshirt in heavy rotation, so I had to show you and tell you my news. This is Jalie 3355 in sweatshirt knit from Girl Charlee. I used studded leather trim around the kangaroo pouch.

I made 4 or 5 of these sweatshirts in December. I’m going to be moving away from the city and to a farm pretty soon, so I’m sewing every project like it might be my last.

Not my last project ever…but I’ll have to pack up the sewing machine at some point. Our house is sold and closes February 1st. We are setting up a closing date on the farm as we speak. I’m hoping for a matching closing date at both places. I’d sure love not having to live in a hotel. However, I’m prepared for any sacrifice we have to make for this blessing. I’ve never been so excited and scared!

I’m losing a bedroom and gaining a bathroom. I’m getting a huge living room (sunroom!) which will be nice because we have family and friends over a lot.  Hubby says he will carve me out some sort of dedicated sewing space, somehow. I’ll run my construction business out of a nook in the dining room. We have to make it work without any renovations or additions, because we plan to build a new home out there within a couple years. It will be tough on Mr. Fix It because he loves projects. But I’m putting a strict zero budget on anything cosmetic.

I am vowing to be content no matter what, because the real thing we are gaining is not the house (or the dream house later). It’s 16 acres of freedom; where my daughter can play outside. No traffic or crime. And a good school.

All the paperwork, inspections, and miscellaneous stuff has kept me away from the internet. Tell me; do you have any big news or plans for the New Year? Or maybe a sewing resolution? I haven’t gotten to catch up with many of you this month and I’m dying to hear how everyone is doing;)

I’m so excited for you. But it would be stressful prepping to pack up sewing machines-and everything else! It’s a great sweatshirt too :)

I am so excited about your move amy! You are going to love it. Living in a transitional home isn’t easy, but as long as you can keep your eyes on the prize it’ll be great! This sweatshirt looks like a great fit. Good luck with closing!!

16 acres – WOW!!! That’s fabulous, Amy. You’ll all love the freedom and space. Bella’s top looks great and super comfy, too. I have yet to make up my Jalie patterns – maybe in 2015???

Yippeee!!!! {Me clapping gleefully!!!} Congrats on the sale of your home….double, nope make that quadruple, congrats on the purchase of your dream property! 16 acres sounds ah-mazing! I’m curious if you’ll become a country living blogger….I know there will be lots of things you could share about life on the farm. Now…what about Sofie and family? Hopefully, you aren’t too far country that you won’t see your extended family.

PS Totally loving Bella’s cowboy boots! Very hip!

PPS Totally love and respect that you respect your ‘models’! xo

No big news or plans here in Vancouver, although I would really like to get to know many of the Indie Pattern Makers better in 2015.
