Today I’m happy to share a fabulous tween sewing pattern; the Joscelyn Skirt from Mama Says Sew!
The Joscelyn Skirt is a 3 tiered maxi or knee length skirt, with a pocket option. (I absolutely love the construction method for the pocket! Easiest, ever.)
It has a broad size range from 6-9 months to 10 years. Its not often that I find a pattern that will fit my tween daughter or my toddler niece.
I’ve been saving this Tropical Birds Paradise fabric for something special. The pattern calls for wovens, but knit fabric works great. In fact, I could use a yoga style waistband and wear it myself!
I sewed the tiers with the seam allowances on the outside to give this skirt a boho feel. My daughter styled it with a leather jacket and combat boots. When the jacket is on, she’s suddenly very tough and super cool. This pose must be inspired by mommy’s fashion magazines!!
I’ll be adding this pattern to my Tween Fashion Sewing group board on Pinterest. I’d love contributors if you sew, will be sewing, or have survived sewing for tweens.
If you’d like to buy a copy of the Joscelyn Skirt, you still have a couple days left to use promo code JOSCE20 for a 20% discount!
