Joscelyn Skirt from Mama Says Sew

Joscelyn Skirt from Mama Says Sew

The Joscelyn Skirt pattern is now available for free at Mama Says Sew!

Today I’m happy to share a fabulous sewing pattern; the Joscelyn Skirt from Mama Says Sew!

The Joscelyn Skirt is a 3 tiered maxi or knee length skirt; with a broad size range from 6-9 months to 10 years. Its not often that I find a pattern that will fit my tween daughter or my toddler niece.

I’ve been saving this Tropical Birds Paradise fabric for something special. The pattern calls for wovens, but knit fabric works great. In fact, I could use a yoga style waistband and wear it myself!

I sewed the tiers with the seam allowances on the outside to give this skirt a boho feel. My daughter styled it with a leather jacket and combat boots. When the jacket is on, she’s suddenly very tough and super cool. This pose must be inspired by mommy’s fashion magazines!!

I’ll be adding this pattern to my Tween Fashion Sewing group board on Pinterest. I’d love contributors if you sew, will be sewing, or have survived sewing for tweens.

Amy, do you work with wool at all? I’m doing a wool blog-o-versary giveaway early next year. Wondering if you have worked with the sustatinable goodness?

Your daughter is so pretty Amy! & her hair WOW! :-)
that skirt is pretty too and love that it has pockets (I love dresses and skirts with pockets very much, never know where to put my hands, I talk with my hands that’s why) ha!ha! :-)
& I think it’s a great idea that she paired it with a leather jacket; love the style of the skirt with it and with the boots too! :-)
