Rainy Day Dress/ New Look 6115

Rainy Day Dress/ New Look 6115

I made Sofie’s Rainy Day Dress made with New Look 6115.

I really love this pattern.

I sketched it a dozen times…I was going to use a coordinating stripe, but every time I looked at that print it made my eyes swim.

So I ended up using the same fabric throughout, but cut the middle section lengthways and the side pieces on opposite grain.

I was nervous that the length would hinder her movement, but Sofie’s been getting around just fine.

I used a ribbon bow rather than making the fabric bow the pattern provides. That was mostly laziness on my part.

I added black piping to the vertical seams & forgot to do the bodice! Ha ha! Shoulda had my V-8!

This was an easy sew. I’ve gotten tons of compliments in it too! I want to make the bubble version next.

Sofie needs at least 3 dozen of these! I absolutely recommend this pattern.

How sweet! No I disagree about the ribbon, not lazy, design change and cute at that. Piping forgotten, no way, design opportunity.

I love it. I’ve made one of the Project Runway Patterns years ago and found the sizing to be smaller than with other New Look patterns. Did you notice this, or maybe they’ve changed it since then.

I think you may be right…this dress is a 2t and she’s barely in 18 months.
