Sewing Machine Cover

Sewing Machine Cover

I made this sewing machine cover the other day.

I’m finishing a dress I’m working on for Bella tomorrow. Then I want to get to work right away on Baby Amy & Haley’s birthday dresses, with matching dresses for their dolls.

Baby Amy & Haley are my little sister in laws, age 3 & 4. Their mom, Lucy, is my age. Lucy is super cool and laid back. On an unrelated note, the girls have recently given each other haircuts, and so one is sporting a Mohawk, while the other rocks a mullet. Awesome!

Elio, (my father in law) also has a 10 year old son named Steven from wife #2. Steven’s mom is a rotten apple. I want to punch out of her ridiculous shoes (that she can barely walk in) sometimes.

Elio also made 3 children with my mother in law (Eva) who was wife #1. Between both parents, my husband is one of 7 children. The oldest & youngest are over 30 years apart. That means my father in law is a pimp, but also needs a vasectomy. Because if he gets his way, he’d have a few more. But I don’t want to babysit.

Having a big family can be loud, and dramatic, but it’s also like having a small private army. You mess with one of us, you answer to us all! The bible says children are blessings. They are our wealth. We are rich with blessings!

What does this article have to do with sewing machine covers? Nothing. I just wanted to show it off, and tell you about my family.

ahh, this is great! I always cover my machine (‘Marilyn’ btw) with an old piece of leftover fabric and it’s been annoying me forever! I have so many colourful fabric pieces lying around – I’ll definitely have to make one like yours!

The machine cover looks so fancy (mine is much more practical and not fancy at all, you make desire a new cover…), I’d like to see pics of the girls with weird hairs and their dolls matching outfit… Your family seems to be fun, isn’t it?

So cute and practical. Mom would love one, she’s got a sewing machine (do you guys call it this way?) but as far as I can see she’s never thought of this idea.
I love the last line of your post, you’re a funny lady :)

I have a friend with a family like that, her youngest half sister is the same age as her son! I have some weird family stuff going on on my mom’s side, but not quite like that…we pretty much just call everyone we consider family a cousin or uncle or aunt because it is just too confusing to explain all the weird relationships. It was good fun when my mom was a little buzzed and trying to explain who all the children going crazy in the house were to my dad’s mom though. Oh, families.

Also your sewing machine cover is super cute. If my machine ever had a place it got to call home I would totally make one!

If you punch out her shoes please take pics for the blog :P my husband is 35 years younger than his oldest brother but the only child from his fathers 2 marriage, I think it adds interest. I also ave aunties and uncles around the same age, families can be wonderful and some annoying just makes it all net resting. GREAT sewing machine cover :)

I’m literally laughing out loud right now! Too funny! I hope wife #2 doesn’t read your blog! Heehee.
I can totally relate though, you can’t always pick your family. That’s why the book Boundaries was written I think. I need to re-read that book at least a couple times a year! :)

Cute machine cover! I really need to make one too; I use the yucky plastic one that came with my machine. Aren’t families fun?! Sounds like never a dull moment in your family!!

I have had a sewing machine cover on my to do list forever. I really need to get around to it since in our small house the only place to store my machine is under the kitchen table.

I love having a big family as well and the great part is that about half of my extended family lives on the same street as me. I always thought of it as having my own baseball team with plenty of backup players!
