Paper Plate Banner

Paper Plate Banner

By Amy Mayen

Welcome to another Workroom Wednesday, where I show you the stuff that didn’t make the blog this week! (I invented this series to buy myself some time in between posts mid week…so I can sew a little and work on photos!)

This will become a balloon topiary for my nephews carnival party. It’s been party central in my workroom! We should all do nice things for kids so they will visit us when we are old and senile.

I’ve finished his banner, but never got around to taking a pic for you guys! Maybe I’ll shoot some photos when were setting up the party. I made a similar one using paper plates at Bella’s 8th birthday party.

I really wanted to wait to show you my beautiful Lucinda skirt- but I couldn’t stand it any longer! I just need to top stitch the waist and finish the back vent. I don’t want to jinx myself….but IT LOOKS GREAT! I’ll be using it for my pencil skirt challenge. I’ll finish up tomorrow and show you next week!!

Ooh, carnival party sounds super fun! The one time I planned a super exciting themed party for my daughter it was her third birthday and we did circus with crafts and games and photobooths and everything, and I was super crafty and made as much as I could, and she barely remembers it. It was so fun, but I never want to do it again!

Love the creativity. Can the kids still eat off the plates? Can’t wait to see you in your skirt. I’m looking to make a long patchwork skirt for my 3 year old daughter. All the ones available are “hoochie skirts”.

You certainly keep yourself busy, don’t you? Have fun planning the party. I can’t wait to see more details. And, that skirt of yours, from what little you have shown us, looks amazing. Love the fabric, so pretty and feminine :)

Topiary is a table topper, it holds a bouquet of balloons or flowers. A decorative thingy.
      Yup, full length!

I can’t wait to see the finished skirt!! You are so on the ball–I haven’t even decided on the pattern/fabric yet. And the party decor looks so fun!
