Birthday Party Projects

Birthday Party Projects

By Amy Mayen

Welcome to Workroom Wednesday, where I show photos of random crap I’m working on. It’s a way to buy some time until my next post, and let you fabulous readers know I’m still kickin’. I take crappy pics & throw W.W. posts together in about 10 minutes, so if you’re here, I’m guessing you love me :)

Here are some bean bags I’m making for my nephews carnival party this Saturday. You can click my last Workroom Wednesday post to see more carnival crap I’m making. My stuff never looks as good as it does on Pinterest.

Here are some tissue paper pouf balls I’m working on. I have tutorials for these on my Party Ideas board on Pinterest.

These are mustache props for the PVC pipe photo backdrop. These are another example of my shoddy attempts at recreating cool pins.

Here’s something Mr. SewsNBows is working on for Julian’s party. I can’t show you everything yet since its not done…but it will be a ticket booth! (This is my other nephew Evan. He’s been helping his uncle build. He is so tired in this photo, but wouldn’t take a nap.)

Update:

This is hail from the tornadoes that hit here in Oklahoma. I took this photo from my back door overlooking the deck. Pardon my messy yard. I wish I could blame the tornadoes, but it already had toys and things everywhere. Who am I kidding…this is actually pretty tidy for me.

We got my daughter & nephew out of school before they got locked down. There was about 15 minutes warning. I felt the air pressure and knew we gonna get it bad about 20 minutes before it hit. We’re lucky to have been able to get to school and have our children home right before this hail came down.

I feel blessed that it didn’t hit me bad. We have no damage to our home. I feel guilty planning a birthday party, because 8 minutes away they are still finding people buried in the rubble. A husband, wife, and infant were killed at my 7 eleven; which was leveled. I’ve turned off the news for today. I can’t handle the fatality number rising by the hour. People have lost their animal family members too. I feel this tightness in my chest, especially thinking about all the children.

Sorry to get so “heavy”, but can you all just hug your babies and pets extra tight tonight? Maybe say a prayer for OKC & Moore if you can too. Thanks friends!

so glad that you were able to get your kids from school and be together when the storm came and that you have been safe from the storm. OK has definitely been at the top of my thoughts the past 2 days (do i really want to send my kid to school there?) Looks like you are a party planner extraordinairre!! Theme parties are so fun!! I made some bean bags for a toss game for my daughter’s strawberry birthday a couple of years ago. I used burlap then put paint on a strawberry stamp and stamped the image on the burlap. The kids still play with those bean bags and try to stick their fingers into the burlap to get the beans out. I hope the tornadoes go away!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that you and your family are safe. The weather can be so devastating and come so unexpectedly. It’s sad and tradgic.

I can’t wait to see more pictures of the fabulous party you are helping plan. I am making tissue paper poms as well :)

    Hey Amy,
Wow! I’m so glad you were able to get your babies home safely. I haven’t watched a lot of the news for the same reason. I don’t feel that I could handle seeing all of the mortality, but continue to pray for everyone there.
I love this series. I think it’s a great idea to share what you’re working on! And I especially love your humorous intro! ;)
    Take care chica! :)

Oh Amy, wrapping you in a cyber hug! I don’t watch the news, so I’m not really informed about what has happened. So sorry to hear of the loss of life and of injuries. I was actually paying you a visit today because I am frustrated with blogger/google, and am toying with going to wordpress. {Sigh} It all seems so petty now.

Glad you hear you didn’t have any damage. I know I had to turn off the news because I kept tearing up. Same reasons as you apparently: animals and kids :(.
